Typical time
XMR to ETH measured median execution: 13.8 min across 1,147 completed swaps in the 30 days ending Oct 27, 2026, 5:11 PM UTC. Measured from deposit detection to the final recorded workflow step; excludes the wait before sending and wallet unlock time.
How the XMR to ETH swap works
1. Enter the XMR amount and your Ethereum address
Choose the network for delivery in the token selector: mainnet for a cold wallet, Arbitrum or Base for cheap DeFi.
2. Send XMR to the deposit address
Exact amount, from any Monero wallet.
3. Monero confirmations, then delivery
About 14 minutes on the default network (measured median over the last 30 days). The order page shows every stage.
4. ETH arrives at your address
Fresh ETH at a fresh address, with no history attached.
Fees, minimum and time for this route
- Wagyu fee: 0% for this route. The quote also shows applicable routing, trading and rounding costs. Your deposit transaction network fee is paid separately. The final output can change with the market during execution.
- Minimum: about $25 on the default network. Another network or amount can change the quote.
- Time: about 14 minutes from deposit detection to completion on the default network. Confirmations and large orders executed in slices can take longer. This is the measured median over the last 30 days.
Times are approximate for the default network, from deposit detection to swap completion. Confirmations, order size and your selected network can change the timing.
Before you send
- Choose the delivery network first: Ethereum mainnet, Arbitrum or Base, in the token selector. The ETH arrives only on that network.
- Your XMR must be unlocked before you can send it: Monero needs 10 confirmations, about 20 minutes, after you received it.
- Send the exact amount shown in the order, in one transaction, and save the order link and its private session key.
- Check the address bar. The only official domain is wagyu.xyz.
Which Ethereum address to use
Any Ethereum address you control works, starting with 0x. The same address exists on mainnet, Arbitrum and Base, but the ETH arrives only on the network you picked. Use a fresh address from your own wallet, one that has never been linked to your name: if the ETH lands on an address an exchange knows is yours, you give back the privacy you had with Monero. If you need the ETH on an exchange anyway, send it there directly and expect that exchange's own checks.
Three ways to sell XMR without an account
| Way | How fast | What it costs | What you need |
|---|---|---|---|
| Instant swap (this page) | about 14 minutes to ETH | 0% Wagyu fee out of XMR, route cost in the rate | an Ethereum address |
| Peer-to-peer market | depends on the buyer | set by you and the buyer | a buyer and an escrow |
| Atomic swap | slower, both chains must confirm | network fees and the maker's spread | the tools mostly cover XMR and BTC, so you convert the BTC to ETH afterwards |
Large exchanges are not on this list: they ask for ID, and several have delisted Monero.
Why swap XMR to ETH on Wagyu
The point of going from Monero to Ethereum is usually to use something: a DeFi protocol, an NFT mint, a stablecoin, a payment that wants an EVM address. Starting from XMR means the destination address has no past. Wagyu keeps it that way: no account, no email, and screening before the swap, so a deposit is either swapped or refunded, never held. The rules are in the compliance policy. If the route is down, the order asks for a Monero refund address and sends your coins back.
Frequently asked questions
Can I receive ETH on Arbitrum or Base instead of mainnet?
Yes. Pick the network in the token selector before creating the order; the deposit and the delivery follow that choice.
How much does XMR to ETH cost?
The Wagyu fee is 0% on this route. The quote shows applicable routing, trading and rounding costs before you send. Your deposit network fee is separate, and the final output can change during execution.
How long does it take?
Typically about 14 minutes from deposit detection on the default network. This is the measured median over the last 30 days; confirmations, order size and network conditions can change the timing. The widget shows the estimate for your actual swap.
Is there a minimum?
About $25 on the default network for this route. Check the quote for your selected network and amount before sending.
Does the ETH I receive have any link to my Monero?
No on-chain link exists between a Monero transaction and an Ethereum transaction. The only records are the order itself and its private session key, which you hold.
Can I swap XMR to USDT or USDC on Ethereum instead?
Yes: Monero to USDT and Monero to USDC.
Is the rate fixed or floating?
Floating. The quote is an estimate and the deposit amount is exact. The ETH you receive follows the market during execution.
Why can't I send my XMR yet?
Monero locks incoming funds for 10 confirmations, about 20 minutes. Wait until your wallet shows the balance as unlocked, then send.
What if I send the wrong amount?
Send the exact amount shown in the order. If the deposit differs or a route is unavailable, the order moves to a refund state and asks you for a refund address.
Can I swap Monero to Zcash on Wagyu?
Yes. The Monero to Zcash page pays ZEC to your shielded u1 address with its current fee and timing shown on that page, and the Zcash to Monero page goes the other way.
